The funeral had ended after a good two hours. Friends, Family members, and more had made their way to the large home of The de la Rose family. The house was large enough to host a rather enormous gathering of people, Mrs. Rose having asked everyone join them for a meal and cheering up of the spirits.
She was too busy greeting guests and making sure that the servants and cooks had everything ready to get in a few hours. . How I met him is a mystery in itself. The first sight of him had caused a mixture of physical, mental, and emotional stress of my body. He was delicate, gentle, and friendly but gave an aura of secrecy and isolation.
He was, indeed, an enigma.
Strange how I seem to be remembering this day; the day I first met him in that busy hallway at Princeton.
One of the staff members had introduced me to the charming man as I was on my way to another classroom, having been told that my room was far too small for the class that I was going to conduct for the spring concert late
